Have you looked into what 'bad' jobs starcom did? Like not charge GM the money owed til the end of the year during the bankruptcy? Was that doing a "bad" job? How about the upswing in sales GM has seen since being bailed out? But Starcom was doing a bad job? I mean can you give me some examples here with facts? Here's where you really messed up! Big Fuel ran Gm's Facebook CONTENT! They posted daily, videos, replied to people etc.. etc...Starcom ran Gm's Facebook Ad's! and to say the cost was $3 to $1, where do you get this fact from? Can I see a data point tying this fact in?Here's my fact, Joel Ewanick moved the business just as he did in 2001 to Hyundai to Carat <do before="" did="" digging="" he="" see="" some="" this="" will="" you=""> and he has friends at Goodby as well he moved Hyundai's creative there in 2001 as he did Carat for media. Hmm maybe you could have mentioned this at some point?....Get your facts first before writing.Lastly...Carat's CPC Ad's are run by Iprospect WHICH!!! are you ready for this-Does-Not-Support-Buying-Facebook-CPC-ADs!!!AS heard from a facebook rep "I went to their office to talk to them about Facbeook and almost died, their search business doesn't know how to do facebook ads"And they aren't going to learn for one client!
Joel Ewanick moved the media buying to Carat, and the search cpc ad business went to it's subsidiary Iprospect. Ipro doesn't do facebook ads....so Ewanick shot himself in the foot.To say GM didn't believe in CPC ad's is a total lie with no factual truth behind it. They just cannot actually do facebook without outside help. HECK They also did Twitter ad's Peter, but you don't see them no longer doing that as some big deal. They can no longer do this media buying without hiring an outside company and occurring extra costs.
Which if you dig even deeper you will see they fired starcom to save on $$.. Facts Peter Facts!</do>

Re: Facebook Is Still Figuring It Out.
One reason social media has brought the masses to its bussom so effectively is that main stream media source news releases from ever shrinking insular pools of friends. It's similar to empty fine dining rooms who advertise in the same foodie journals over and over with anemic results. Cast your net wide and far to increase your market not nearer and ever deeper amongst chum.

Ironically, with all the hoopla about 'startups' if you are one and contact the Globe for example you'll be directed to their 'friends' in the thousand dollar a page news release business.

Re: A Ray of Light for the New York Times

I like the reporting at the New York Times, I just feel that considering my interest in tech articles, 3-4 articles a day isn't really worth the $20/month they ask.
...for ad based video.

Has it dawned on you yet that AppleTV's entire premise WRT to paid content is that it is ad free, and as such cannot possibly show up on a graph made to measure ad sponsored content?

Weird. I must watch maybe 3 or 4 movies a week streamed from LoveFilm on my Bravia TV directly here in the UK + a lot of catch up TV (BBC iPlayer mostly) and some net based video (You Tube etc) without it ever touching a console, Apple device or PC/Mac.

That pie chart looks totally bogus.

Re: Microsoft’s Sneaky Success: The Xbox Is the Most Popular Video Player in the U.S.

What????

This data shows Apple winning by a clear majority (double the Xbox share)- yet the text implies its falling behind.

Viewing is only a percent behind on iPad alone. Add the iPhone and iPod touch and its streets ahead (even on this limited data, which ignores the fact the iPad trounces the 360 in casual video viewing of You Tube and the like, typically initiated from a browser or email link, as the 360 can do neither)

I don't mind the figures, but the conclusions of this article are nonsense.
